 Tanzhou White Skin Sugar Cane is also known as
Tanzhou Big Sugar Cane, it gets its name from Tanzhou Town in Panyu
district. Yali Village, Maqian Village and Longgu Village in Tanzhou
share the fame of the long history of growing White Skin Sugar Cane.
But the most superior quality production among these three villages,
is in Maqian Village. Before The General Temper, there is land about
100mu, the product from here, is known as the best quality of
all.The stem of Tanzhou White Skin Sugar Cane is thick and tall, about 3.2 to 4.5 meters, and the product is about 10 to 13 tons per mu. Because of its unique emerald green color, thin skin, crisp meat , good taste and sweetness, it gets the name as Emerald Sugar Cane, well-known in China and abroad. It sells well in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao. Since 1999, with the direction and support of Agriculture Office in the town and Panyu District, the growers have explored a modern area and tried to create their brand. After two years of hard work, they have improved both quality and quantity of Tanzhou White Skin Sugar Cane. They are sold to Hong Kong and Macao, which has become the most important source of partly local growers. This year, in order to make it purify and better quality, this town has a co-operation with the district government. By using some techniques, Tanzhou White Skin Sugar Cane is undergoing purification. It is estimated in three years, people can find a purer, better quality Tanzhou Sugar Cane.
