The leaves and
stems are dark green withfill empty stalks.The pulp is tender and
fragile with little fibre and a sweet taste.Most is
edible.

 ¡¡¡¡Qiyi village in Lingshan Town started to plant
celery in the 1980s.These days,people there attach great importance
to introducing good seeds and keep on seeking the better planting
modes to improve the planting technology.The growing area is
becoming bigger and bigger.The people plant with the sunshading net
covering the celery so that it can be planted earlier.The farmers
obtain great economic benefit in this way.Nowadays,this village uses
the seeds of the brands of ¡°Baili¡± and ¡°Jiazhou¡± from the USA.Each
stalk of celery from this village is about 1-2km each one.Most of
which is edible. The leaves and the stems are dark green.The pulp is
tender and fragile with little fibre and a sweet taste.The quality
is good.These days,the planting area in this town is 3,500 mu
,7,500kg each mu,total output is about 26,000,000kg.The celery sells
during November to March each year.The celery is mostly sold in
North China,some is sold in Hongkong,Macau,Singapore and so on.It is
very popular with customers. |
